Jane described the Nursing Optimization project (now called ONE Patient Experience [OPE]). The primary focus will be reducing the time spent by nursing completing admission assessments within the electronic medical record. The kick-off is scheduled for May with a launch expected in mid-October.
Revenue Cycle (OneCareConnection)
Additional work needs to be completed in preparation for the Cerner Revenue Cycle implementation. Specific pain points include:
- Integration with Teletracking
- Changes to the Level of Care order and downstream implications
- Consolidating all physicians and advance practice clinicians into a single provider directory within Cerner
South Suburban will be the first hospital to go live with OneCareConnection. The expected launch date is July 2018.
Communication between Nurses and Physicians
The PerfectServe team is still working on developing the policies and procedures around Bring Your Own Device and two-way secure texting to support a pilot at Good Shepherd. Advance practice clinicians would also be included in the pilot.
Sherman integration
Sherman currently uses pool Message Center functionality within their Cerner instance to help physician teams better manage patients (e.g., co-signing the level of care order). The Sherman CareConnection date has been postponed pending further review of all the necessary integration points.
